So you’ve heard about Young Professionals Week on the North Coast. Interested in learning more? Read on to hear from past attendees about what they are most excited for this year!

“After what’s proven to be a long, arduous pandemic, I am thrilled to be able to network and enjoy the YP community here in north-central Ohio. I’ve always thought of the Firelands community as home, so being able to participate in YP week feels much like coming to a family reunion after an extended absence,” says Alex Jones.

Sarah Ross says of the inaugural Young Professionals week in 2019: “My favorite part of YP week 2019 was meeting new people. I couldn’t believe how many people I met who I would go out with after the events, because we hadn’t had enough time to talk at the events! There are several who I still stay in touch with, in person and on social media as friends.” As to what she’s looking forward to this year – “I’m looking forward to the multi-generational keynote kickoff luncheon, since I missed that the first year!”

Abbey Bemis remarks on the culture of Young Professionals week – “Young professionals are renowned for bucking a ‘live to work’ mentality.  What I/we/they are really after is better work-life integration, and I love what YP Week does to facilitate this idea. Its events combine professional networks, personal development, and community building all at once (typically with a great view and refreshments!).” As for this year’s YP week: “My not to miss event this year is mindfulness & yoga on the pier.”

Lindsey Hoke remembers of 2019: “I remember going to the newly renovated Schmidt Building to listen to City Manager, Eric Wobser, speak and enjoying delicious Maca Root smoothies.  It was a nice break to get out of the office for an hour or so and chat with other young professionals in the community.  Kind of a 4 for 1, if you will.  A great time!” She also is excited about this year’s event – “I’m looking forward to the Women in Leadership Coffee Chat this year!”

And what am I most excited for this year? We are bringing back one of the most popular events from 2019: Trivia at the Taphouse! Local history focused questions, celebrity guest team leaders, and great food and drinks – nothing could be better!
