Erie County, OH — The Erie County Business Advisory Council is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Erie County Workforce Fair. Spearheaded by the Erie County Economic Development Corporation and Firelands Forward, the event brought together seven Erie County school districts, over sixty businesses, and utilized innovative methods to shape students’ experiences based on their YouScience aptitude data.

Held at the prestigious Kalahari Convention Center, the Erie County Workforce Fair served as a platform to bridge the gap between local students and businesses, fostering meaningful connections and preparing the future workforce for success. This collaborative effort showcased the strength of our community in creating opportunities that align with the needs of both students and employers.

Participating in the event were the following seven Erie County schools: Margaretta High School, Perkins High School, Sandusky Central Catholic High School, Townsend Community School, Sandusky High School, Huron High School, and Vermilion High School. These institutions played a vital role in encouraging student participation and ensuring their preparedness for this transformative experience.

With an attendance of over sixty businesses, the Erie County Workforce Fair provided students with invaluable networking opportunities and insights into various industries. Participating companies hailed from diverse sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, hospitality, and more. This diversity enabled students to explore a wide range of career paths and gain a comprehensive understanding of the local job market.

The event leveraged the students’ YouScience aptitude data to tailor their experiences at the Workforce Fair. By utilizing this innovative tool, students were provided with personalized recommendations and guidance regarding career options that best matched their skills, interests, and strengths. This data-driven approach empowered students to make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.

The success of the Erie County Workforce Fair would not have been possible without the combined efforts of the planning committee. The planning committee included local school leaders, community organizations and businesses. Their dedication, vision, and commitment to the growth and prosperity of our community were evident throughout the planning and execution of this event.

The Erie County Workforce Fair exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and innovation that drives our region’s economic development. By fostering connections between students and local businesses, we are cultivating a skilled workforce that is prepared to meet the demands of the 21st-century job market. We extend our sincere appreciation to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this event a resounding success.
